BCR-Therapie stands for Biological Cell-Regulation Therapy. It is a new ‘microcurrent based’ pain management technology developed and patented in Germany. The technology is an effort to go beyond microcurrent to produce a replica energy that closely resembles our body’s own energy (Chi). This is then applied to the pain affected area which provides the energy (ATP) for cells to regenerate at a much faster rate. Regenerated, healthier cells naturally heal the source of pain.

Microcurrent equipment range from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. They are not all equal. The BCR-Therapie equipment is a completely computerized diagnosis and treatment system that uses the most modern microprocessor technology.

During a treatment session, the BCR Therapie equipment automatically regulates its dispensed currencies (amperage + frequency + current + polarity) irrespective of the skin’s resistance. The galvanic separation of each of the four channels and the measurement of the dispensed currencies ensure all treatment requirements are fully met under adverse patient conditions, a feature not found in cheaper equipment. Another distinguishing feature of the BCR-Therapie equipment is its 60 built-in programs that help standardize treatment results that reduce dependence on the skills of the therapists. During the treatment session the equipment regularly diagnoses deviations in impedance from optimum parameters and switches to suitable programs that move the impedance towards the optimum.

These features that makes the system more reliable and the results more consistent, are not found in typical devices.

Technically 600 Micro Amperes is the base line. Above 600 micro amperes is TENS and below 600 micro amperes is microcurrent. Many of the existing Microcurrent systems are actually TENS equipment that can regulate and lower electricity level to below 600 Micro Amperes. This equipment can be called Microcurrent equipment. However, to work best at the cellular level, the electricity levels need to be much lower. It is technologically more difficult to bring down and sustain electricity at extremely low levels with minimum fluctuation. The success in this area is a unique achievement of BCR-Therapie. (BCR-Therapie is now dropping the term Microcurrent from its equipment description.)

TENS system produces electricity in milli-amperes. The natural energy in the body is at micro-amperes. Which means the electricity level produced by TENS system is 1,000 times higher than the body’s natural energy. Therefore TENS system is not biologically compatible to work at the cellular level with the body. TENS can block the pain path temporarily and it is also able to provide some stimulation.  But since it cannot work at the cellular level it cannot heal the source of pain.

Pain problems always correlate to a disruption in the flow of the body’s natural energy. This disruption adversely affects cellular metabolism. When the brain realises this, we experience pain in that affected area.

BCR-Therapie produces and applies energy at the affected area that closely resembles this missing energy. In most chronic pain conditions the body had been unable to heal the problem over a long time and gradually adjusts to that condition. BCR-Therapie alters the condition and gives pain relief. However, it is normal for the body to resist the change and force things back to the prior state. The pain then gradually returns. Chronic pain conditions usually require several sessions at close intervals of daily or every other day, to provide a cumulative effect with increased strength in order to force the body to accept and adjust to the new condition.  The pain relief then lasts longer.  

Sports therapies are unique in that results are time sensitive and must be seen almost instantly. The speed of pain reduction and recovery from physical disabilities make BCR-Therapie ideal for sports therapies. BCR-Therapie has the ability to quickly lower inflammation. Although nerve impingement is believed to cause the pain in slipped disc cases, the mere existence of nerve impingement need not necessarily cause pain.  There needs to be an additional trauma to trigger the initial pain. This trauma incident gets trapped in the cellular memory. This memory is strengthened by further incidences of the same trauma. The pain then becomes more frequent and more severe.

BCR-Therapie helps bring down the level of inflammation in the affected area and relaxes the muscles around the area that result in instant pain relief.  Several applications at close intervals provide a cumulative effect on cellular regeneration.  These efforts gradually re-educate the cellular memory. Slipped disc pain then becomes less frequent and will require a stronger trauma to trigger it. Thereafter if that part of the body is managed gently, taking particular care to avoid the same trauma from happening again, the patient can live without experiencing much pain in the future although the structural problem remains. BCR-Therapie will not be an alternative to surgery in very severe cases.

It is perfectly okay to use BCR-Therapie over metal implants.

In frozen shoulder cases, BCR-Therapie helps to reduce inflammation. Slight improvement in pain and mobility can be seen after the first session and after every other session. Usually 7 to 15 sessions or slightly more are needed to treat frozen shoulder.

BCR-Therapie brings down inflammation, and after several sessions establishes a resistance to inflammation. Though it cannot cure arthritis, it is effective in reducing pain and slowing down further deterioration.

Asthma treatments are applied around the lungs. It reduces inflammation and increases lung capacity.

BCR-Therapie is not known to be a treatment for kidney failure. It is a treatment for pain and to speed up recovery from tissue damage. However, it has seen to be effective for Oedema. Therefore more study is needed to ascertain if it helps improve kidney function.

BCR-Therapie is not known to be a treatment for cancer. It is becoming common to use BCR-Therapie to complement chemo and radiation therapies to mitigate their side effects by providing regeneration for the body.

The application of BCR-Therapie also regenerates bone cells thereby speeding up the healing of fractures.

Some people may see a lightening of their pigmentation or freckles after a few BCR Face Therapy sessions, but some people may not.

There have been no side effects recorded for microcurrent therapy, except for a detoxification reaction. Microcurrent therapy increases cell metabolism and removes long-stored waste products so quickly that there may be a detoxification reaction after treatment. Some people have a similar reaction after a massage, but the reaction after microcurrent therapy is stronger because it does so much more in a much shorter time. Side effects may include, in rare cases, mild nausea, fatigue and drowsiness. Although there are no other side effects recorded with its use, microcurrent therapy is not recommended for patients with pacemakers, pregnant women and small children below five years of age.
